The World of Pleurothallids |
|
Welcome to the website dedicated to the appreciation of orchids of the pleurothallid alliance!
Anyone who believes that less is more would be pleased with pleurothallids, a group of genera of New World orchids that includes many suited for culture under lights and inside the home where the correct environment can be created. Most of the plants are native to the cloud forests, where they thrive on low temperatures, high humidity and low light.
Look closely and you'll discover a bounty of colors, shapes and textures in miniature that remain unrivaled in the orchid family. Anyone with a penchant for packing a lot of diversity into limited space will find the colors and shapes of their dreams in these Lilliputians of the orchid world.
